Certainly! We specialize in interpreting for banks, clinics, immigration offices, and other government agencies. TheCommonLanguage started up with our founder successfully renewing her German residence permit with a remote interpreter. Our service will work in the majority of cases, unless you are going to the police or court — there you will need a sworn translator.
The interpreter “sits” next to you in your phone and you can hear him on speakerphone. Let’s say, you’re talking to a doctor. After each phrase or several sentences you and the doctor need to make a short pause—to give the interpreter time to do his part.
Our remote interpreters are just as real: they will support and guide you. We recommend booking an interpreter 15 minutes before the start of the meeting to immerse them in the context and discuss the strategy.
A Professional is an interpreter with proven professional experience. A Connoisseur is someone who knows the language perfectly, and has relevant experience.
A Professional is a foolproof option who will handle both complex cases and day-to-day issues.
Great question! 🙂 There are many 'real-time machine translation systems' on the market. These are cool tools, but for different purposes. During important meetings, they are very inconvenient and extremely inaccurate: they don't recognize accents, fast speech tempo, and especially context. And they definitely won't suggest when you just need to bring the phone closer, repeat a phrase, paraphrase, or clarify something.
During a meeting — yes, we can. We know that many cases involve reading and signing documents. You will just need to take a photo of the document and send it to the interpreter (they will guide you on how to do it).
